Pan Seared Steak with Buttery Dijon Sauce
The most tender steak topped with a buttery dijon sauce and blue cheese crumbles. You do not need a grill to cook the perfect steak! I will give you my tips & tricks on perfecting a cast iron skillet steak. The buttery dijon sauce is ridiculously delicious and easy to make!

Steak
- 6-16 oz of your favorite cut of steak
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Buttery Dijon Sauce
- 3 tbsp butter melted
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- ½ juice of half a lemon
- ½ tbsp chives chopped
- 1 tbsp cilantro
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- salt & pepper to taste
Steak
Heat oil in a cast iron skillet on stove top over medium heat.
Cover both sides of steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and rub seasonings into steak. Place steak on hot skillet and let it cook for about 3 minutes before flipping. Flip steak and cook for another 3 minutes.
Lower heat to medium heat and add butter to skillet.
Flip again and cook for another 1-4 minutes depending on how you like your steak cooked.
Remove steak from heat and let it rest for about 7-9 minutes before cutting or serving.
