about me.
I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. I live in Denver where I am currently in my last semester at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I am majoring in Human Nutrition & Dietetics and a minor in Biology.
In my freshman year of college I obtained my Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and began working as an EMT while putting myself through college. I have worked as a Volunteer Firefighter, a Medical Assistant for a Neurology & Neurosurgery clinic, and now I currently work for Children’s Hospital Colorado as an ER Technician in the Emergency Department.
During my sophomore year I found myself struggling with food allergies and intolerances. I’ve never had issues with food in my life, but after being tested I soon found out my new reality of having to watch everything I put in my body. Because of my compromised immune system my interest in nutrition ignited and a new chapter in my life began.
In my junior year I decided to study abroad in Cork, Ireland. I studied International/ Cultural Nutrition & Wellness while abroad and traveled much of Europe discovering many different cultures and customs that gave me a fresh perspective of myself and life around me. This enriching experience shaped and molded me into the person I am today, and it also ignited a passion for travel and adventure that would soon be life changing.
Upon my return to Colorado I decided to apply as a flight attendant to travel the world, explore new places, and meet new cultures. I did my research and found out that I could be a flight attendant while finishing my nutrition degree at MSU Denver, so I applied with a major U.S. Airline. Within two weeks I was offered a conditional job offer and was sent to Houston, Texas for training. I made it over every hurdle and was lucky enough to be offered a job out of training. I accepted it truly not understanding how life changing this opportunity would be. My new job sent me to San Francisco, California and my life would be forever changed. In a short period of time I traveled over 300,000 miles that included much of North America as well as places like Seoul, South Korea all the way to Paris, France! For me traveling has fueled my soul, it has taught me that there is no one way to live life, and what we feed our bodies has a direct effect on how we live our daily lives.
my purpose.
Maintaining a balanced life is important to me for my personal health and well-being in my fast-paced lifestyle. I am eager to share my knowledge of nutrition, my passion for cooking healthy, and my travel tips. I understand the importance of living a happy, balanced, and healthy life.
