Smoked salmon toast with whipped dairy-free jalapeño cream cheese with toasted slices of baguette bread. It makes for a great breakfast, snack, or appetizer. This looks fancy, but it is extremely easy to make and only takes a few minutes!
smoked salmon toast.
It is no secret that I love toast with some type of healthy fat and protein. I already gave you my reasonings on why I eat these decked-out toasts in my Tuna Salad Avocado Toast post.
I love this recipe because you get a great source of protein from the salmon and cashews (one slice has about 16g of protein)! It also contains low-calorie, dairy-free, and vegan cream cheese. You can use regular cream cheese, but I highly recommend giving this cream cheese a try. It is so good, I honestly have a hard time differentiating this vegan cream cheese and regular cream cheese.

Jalapeño Cream Cheese: I am going to make a full blog on this topic but I will give you my down and dirty opinion on this topic. I truly believe if the vegan diet is done right, it can be great for your body. BUT, it is extremely easy to make the vegan diet more unhealthy than a regular western diet. This simply is because of all the extra additives and processed ingredients they put into vegan products to make them taste better. So instead of buying vegan cream cheese from the grocery store that has a bunch of added crap into it, I would rather take 5 minutes to make my own. It tastes just as good and only contains six ingredients. If you want to use regular cream cheese for this recipe, feel free to! I try to avoid dairy products because of health reasons and that’s why I chose a vegan cream cheese for this recipe.
Bread: Again, you can use whatever bread your little heart desires, but I think that the baguette bread pairs really well with the smoked salmon.
